William Clay Ford, Jr., the Executive Chariman of Ford Motor Company said that, “creating a strong business and building a better world are not conflicting goals – they are both essential ingredients for long-term success.” This philosophy is one that we here at Eagle Rivet strongly believe in and adhere to. Being a socially responsible company that gives back to the community is extremely important and something that we pride ourselves on at Eagle Rivet. Opportunities to give back in a variety of ways is something that we are always on the lookout for. Luckily, Eagle Rivet has recently been able to do just that for individuals within the community and for the community as a whole. We have been fortunate enough to be a part of helping a veteran of the armed forces as well as contributing to a project aimed at increasing the efficiency and cutting the energy costs at two public schools in Clinton, Ct.
Eagle Rivet is proud to have partnered with CT ABC’s Project Open Shop Salute, a great program that provides assistance to men and women that have served in any branch of the military. Recently we were able to replace the roof on the house of a National Guard sergeant who also happens to be the mother of two small children. The house itself was in need of repairs with the roof being of special concern as it was over 20 years old and had begun to leak. With winter approaching, Eagle Rivet – along with CT ABC chapter and other partners – were able to replace the roof on this three story house within a week’s time for this family that has given so much to our country. As the world seeks to find new and improved ways of efficiency there has been a movement towards sustainable energy sources. With solar energy being one of the major sources of the clean energy movement it is no surprise that Connecticut has come to the conclusion that it needs to explore and invest in solar energy. Eagle Rivet was recently a part of a project to do just that for two schools in Clinton, Ct. A joint effort involving a number of different individuals and businesses worked together to install a set of solar panels on the roofs of both Jared Eliot Middle School and Lewin G. Joel, Jr. Elementary School. Eagle Rivet was fortunate enough to be able to provide the roof flashing for the project; that is install the pieces that will ensure that the roof does not leak after undergoing a major renovation.
